Wall-apart
“Adama” I called you
Do you remember…?
When we were younger
How happy we were
Biding a low-bye
Even when daddy and mummy
Watched with a questioning eye-brow
“en” You replied
Do you know why…?
I searched for my neatest clothes
Anytime you were around me
Gentrification in action
Reasons to the little B-girl
Smiling and enticing me
To look the very best
Do you remember…?
All of the things we said
Through the tall fence
Calling names, laughing and gibing
Fun became boring
We were deprived
Deprived by the walls.
