Skimming corruption

Skimming through the surface of Nigeria
Not sporty nor to evade tax but to clean
An old mess, of mindset and corruption

My quest for revival ought to be in a jiffy
But it has turned into an eccentric donkey
And it seems; the sorbent has turned the spill

Do not ask why, do not question my stops
And why skimming has become a snail pace..
But put it on all individuals of my generation.

Reality of diabolics

Until I met the Devil
I realized how bad quotes are…
He wasn’t dark as the night
Neither with horns like a bull

But a replica of me with my shadow
Staring innocently back at me,
It made me see obvious logics
Protecting me from all magics

It was awful noticing
I was my own limitation
Hence I stopped believing
Things I hear from others lips…

For on an eccentric surface
The same two parallel lines
They said will never meet
Came together, intertwined.

Running from tantrums

Can you loan me
A rest of mind
Place were tantrums
Are dumb and blind
So at night I could
Smile and rest my head
Sleeping calm and fine
Metabolizing all I dine.

Dwelling in serenity

Good write-up does often attract
Many readers eyes onto such art
Hence I dwell in serenity
So I pour out everything
Flying letters and alphabets
From my head they shall flung out…
Environment has its do
When the mind and head is full.

Better move on

Have you given an energetic hug
Where you poured all emotions out
Only to feel like you overdressed
For the occasion called romance…

Smiling and jumping but he stood
Staring at you like he saw a ghost
Avoiding a close distance in public
While you hug, he behaves like a doll.

In times you are badly need a pat
He gives you nothing to ever hold on
But calls you only when he needs to cum
My advice is, sister better move on.

Awkward hugs

Slowly I felt the upper body touch
While the lower part stayed far apart
Within me I nursed an expression
Of discomfort and disappointments
So don’t blame me for faking a smile
If you never stretched out your arms
Only to get a generous religious hug
Coming awkward in times unmatched
When you expected a warm embrace…

African Tamarind

When I look into what everyone sees
I see a city, they call an ever green
A city that was built by Robin Hood
Stealing and giving to a yellow wood

Hiding the existence of an African plum
Telling me my soil breeds only worms
Cursing Nature by playing the master
Who cracked shells for seeds to foster

Sprouting out seeds called my brothers
Related by blood but not by sisters
Rome wasn’t built in a day, please save
The story hey you diaspora modern slaves

Until you deep your feet in your own shoe
You will not realize who is really fooled
Even Apples fall not far from its trees
As a citizen, you are liberal but far from free…

The second largest continent yet an ant
In the sight of others who aren’t stagnant
Even Angels can’t keep loving a child
Who sour the sweetness deep inside…

Each time I see a tamarind plum
I always critic the African poems
Not as a racist but deep in here
I speak in pains, hoping we hear clear.

Purple people

Flashing in-between
Where purples intertwine
Red to roses, sky to blue
There is a difference
Between sugar and salt
Though its blend forms
Something brand new;

Even in awkward silence
Four fingers fuse
New shape submerge,
Love symbol is seen
With no doubt inside
Saying; love found us
Comfortable inside.

Tragedy of an innovative mind

Stitches widen, as the Sun intensified
Waning in stamina, waxing in greed
Tired of stagnancy reasons he switched
Defecting to wrong in the hands of law
Caught on first day of such indulgence
The colleagues he left for good called
Notifying him in jail of their breakthrough.

Don’t judge a criminal until you are driven
Or a man of valor and great potentials
Doing good things in wide ranges
Pouring out sweat on rock of ages
Expecting golds but getting nothing;
You will relate to his call for change
If you give it all but had zero reward.

Tone: Out of a million hugs

All of my life, I have had a million hugs
But none has been felt like this one she brings
Where our bodies touch to pull the snow
And our eye meet connecting the soul
Smiling carelessly with nothing to hide
Inside such a hug, is true love to find.

Sneaking from behind grabbing the waist
Taking flight on fright with love so bright
In such a way that we feel the warm hands
Climbing and sliding, around the neck untold
As I immediately get her swept off her feet
Following it up with a lovely French kiss

Transmitting all softly, as we crush all space
Between our body while we slow dance
Robbing our backs; when the tides are high
Providing shoulder should tears gush out
Often she tucks her hands into my pocket
Whispering, “Shakespeare can’t describe that”.
