Lost before kickoff

Like a native frying pan
I am but a naked man,
Ready for life contest
A contest of the swift…

Racing to climb the hill
Hence the mark I kneel
But there come challenges
Change of rules and pages…

“Step forward if you are white”
In spite of the prerequisite
The White forks had all edges
I, Black.. watched my jinx

Each who made it through
Had a lot of gadgets and tools
To take them within seconds
Should the race begin soonest.

With no boost or vantage
I had to begin from my cage
Several miles behind, their traces
Hoping in vain to win the race.
