Plight of an idol

Please forget me in a hurry
Erase my all from your memory
Am not a saint but a sinner
Am far from the best but a learner.

I hit the nails, I bail and spill
Wondering why you idolize me
Seeing stars, doves, grey hairs and all
You hang my pictures high on your wall

Adoring me amongst the few,
But sorry to break it down to you
I am of dust and a mere fool
Who is lost and finding his way too.

Please forget me in a hurry
Erase my all from your memory
Am not a saint but a sinner
Far from best, like you, am a learner.
