Blood will out

Till I broke jaw,
I was wiser
Now am a fool
It feels better.

Absence of horns,
Should never count
As lack of tool
Please know better.

Like an odour,
Is character
Many people,
Wear spray on it.

In rule of law,
Brain is better
Than brawn that full
Bottomless pits

Things I have seen
In some scholars
Unravelled clues;
When ‘blood will out’.

The straw that broke a camel’s back

Fallen to floor, there came ladders
Not from paid dues, I used to owe
But from distant shores of strange land
Never flown to, or even know.

No penny, no purse and uglier
Than chimpanzees, well, with good doze
At same time raw like tomatoes;
My strength she pulls by straw she rolls.

The beautiful claws of wonders
Behind her, shows her camel-toes
Yet in her flaws she is better
Than the angels I used to know.

Sonnet: Holy terror of Nature

I fell in love with nature’s rove
Till she dug hole shredding my soul.
My arteries drain like batteries
Then cable cuts, flesh starts to rot
Her rivers flow and her wind blows
With such a charm until it harms,
So not my fault, I don’t want
Another round of sight and sound.
In fear I pound so fast and loud
By Nature’s jar both near and far,
My worst nightmare, is how she flares
Like I owe her, lots of naira.
Displaying rage from stage to stage
Till the sky drops, she never stops.

Poet’s Inspiration

There is a force in all motions
All glow has an inspiration
I know a Poet who was so good
He loved to express all he could

People loved him until one day
It seems deserts ate up the bay.
In pains he wrote but flames burnt it
In tears he wrote dryness washed it

In the shadow for many years;
His readers protested, others jeered
Demanding eggs from a dead hen
So he laid down stretching his pen

Right in front of an empty sheet
Of pains and tears in fears and doubts
But not until he had his breath
Taken away; well not by death

But at first sight, his feet got swept
Ignoring bounds doubts disappeared
A star was born with energy that
Made him to write poems once again.

Life on Social Media

My kindred will say; likes cure like,
But not the way you just click like
On all write-ups I do upload
Without reading a single word.

Most times you view with an envy
A fair exchange is no robbery
Scratch mine and yours I will scratch back
Yet you never will follow back.

Roosting peoples updates we see
I am guilty and it scares me
If you have been inside my shoes
You will have a personal clue.

False battlefields

Life is a complex cable
Connecting possibilities
Goals we chase but blows we get
Taking turns receiving drop jaws
For what do I know, than to say
If you fail, try and try again.

Life is a complex cable
Connecting possibilities
No matter how you try and try
If preparation meets not
With an opportunity
Failure will be inevitable.

Life is a complex cable
Connecting possibilities
Gurus we are, and so we wish
Trying to gain an Einstein’s hairs
Fair enough, nothing ever counts,
In six feet where skulls shall rot.

Life is a complex cable
Connecting possibilities
No man can escape the result
If you attempt cheating death
Warm will turn cold while you realize
Finding success is died in cast.

Can’t let depression win

I can’t let depression win
Even if the fish lost gills and fins
Or same water it swims boil it
I can’t let depression win.

I can’t let depression win
Barefooted, trekking deep through dead ends
Where am compelled to bend and break
I can’t let depression win.

I can’t let depression win
Taking my life and beautiful dream
Simply because of a rough sail
I can’t let depression win.

I can’t let depression win
Even when I have lost bearings
And my compass is dead and gone
I can’t let depression win.

I can’t let depression win
I rather wait patiently for dawn
If it refuse to come, I hibernate
I can’t let depression win.

I can’t let depression win
When time is right, I shall awake
For now I sleep inside my dreams
I can’t let depression win.

Dead Dream’s Dream

Dreams change the world at large
Hence it chose you to dream and create
Writing new ranges in pages
Of morning dew drops to elate.

More than Seas, tall as hills
Bright as sunlight was future you
Now I see cup of teas
Cracking starlight falling as cubes.

My hopes blew; I told you
To walk away from cold embrace.
I showed you not all new
Dawns bring today in all man’s race.

But the you that you are
Looked for roses elsewhere and flied
Black and blue, blunt and cruel,
He killed you there on dreaming bed.
