Chinese whispers

Where did love go? Do you want to know?
Maybe some stories are better untold
Love at first sight gave me a Chinese whisper
Changing from a whisper to another whisper..

The first said she did not love me
The second said, I should go on my kneel
She became my religion, I knelt and prayed
I fought tooth and nail for love to stay,

I gave her my soul but she refrained
Yet love kept saying; “she loves you this way”
Painting a picture of a cat’s whisker
Better than all my previous lovers.

Then at last, she cruelly broke my heart
And scattered the pieces over the world
Clearly, love made me a shadow of myself
Lonely in a house filled with people.

But most times I search through the window
For her even with tears on my pillow
I keep seeing her sweet charming face
Slowly winking at me and blowing a kiss.

Love at first sight gave me a Chinese whisper
Changing from a whisper to another whisper..
Saying she loves me, whereas she doesn’t
Know I exist, damn I am in a total dismal.
