R.I.P. Onyeche S.C

I saw blood on a ray
In great Agbor today…
Your chair was so empty
Radio was not playing

Today is the first time
I visited your house
Without seeing your face
And hearing your advise

“Stay away from fake friends
Please do not be reckless”
All these and many more
Made visits a glamour

Embracing me tight
There were these sensations
From sitting on your lap
Peaceful like waterfall

I watched you as you aged
Until life closed the page
I felt pain to the bone
While I was driving home

Recalling how you called
Me often on the phone
Memories unerased;
You can not be replaced

You were so kind and dear
The vacumn would be there
It is sad you are gone
Guess heaven needs you more.

Died on the 1st of December, 2019

Tricky knife of death

There are knives in the air
Cutting memos we share
How I wish life is sold
No one would feel the cold
I have seen what death wears
Hence I may never fear
Sadly, it changes its clothes
Every time it comes close.

I’m not a Prophet
But I’ve seen velvets
Spreading across the page
On a cradle that age.
It never seems to cease
Ricochetting with ease
Bringing tears on pillows,
From the doors to windows.

I dreamt it took Shady
I woke, I told Shady
Evading time to come
For a big tree to fall
We went down on our kneels
To nullify bad dreams
But the tricky knife graced
Another folk to grave.

I hate December

Although I love Christmas
The time is here again
When we all fight
Desperately
To make double gain
By any means
Necessary.

Although I love Christmas
I detest pains she cause
Our poor loved ones
Picture them crying
From our ugly fates
When it creates
The prefix late.

Although I love Christmas
Life ought to be simple
Not as tipples
Carelessly do
Gambling it all, and
Forgetting
There are no spare parts.

Although I love Christmas
I hate December
Because she creates
A mentality;
Hey! don’t be late
When no one
Closes the gate…

December drivers

We are at the junction
We must apply caution
And not to be mentioned
As another lost soul
Life is not for auction
The brake has a function
There are many drivers
That drove in the summer
Stacking a lot of papers
Just to have a super
And beautiful winter
But bought a silent whisper.

Bad shape of love

Gather the broken mirrors
Bring shreds to my huts
I can fix just anything
So I thought, till she left
Here I am as a shred
Not they say, but the first hand
To the tears and the rain
Pouring down in great pain.

I failed an easy game
Though I hide all the shame
But I am a sour grape
And my heart is in bad shape…
Thought I could fix anything
Till I was the broken thing
I am torn, and so cold
Yet these glues cannot hold,

Now I know, the face of rage
Some things are damaged
Beyond redemption
Where glues can’t function
Gather my broken clay pots
Yes, it is all my fault
I am running insane
Since she left me this way.

Womb Prose: Talking to the unborn

Hello, what would you do for fun,
In few months time, you will be born
Now your heartbeats, sound so sweet
I’ve seen your kicks and summersaults
Can’t wait to hold your tiny hands
On your cradle, innocent glance.

Ten things

There are ten things
I love about your body
First is from the cradle
Of your pacific eyes
Second is your beautiful smile,
That sparkles like the stars
Third is your gorgeous hair,
Dark as the night, long and silky…

Fourth are your amazing lips,
And kisses tasting like honey
Fifth are your miraculous palms
Whose touch lifts me higher
Sixth is your appealing skin,
Softer than the furs and wools
Seventh are your breastplates
Succulently filled with milk.

Eight is your ravishing shape
A very big figure eight
Nine; your straight hot legs
With steps blazing like fire
Ten is your innocence;
Damn! you are an Angel
The heavens are in trouble
You are the breeze of seduction.

Hallelujah! at times I wonder
How you fit in those clothes
Your numerous endowments
Could make the Devil repent…
I would never forget the date
Our nodes and paths crossed
It was under the blue sky,
I found you, burning the sun.

Sex with poetry

Poetry is my sweet lover
Whether I am cold as cucumber
Or million degrees hot as hell
All my emotions are that she tells…

No matter the situation
Her passion, springs me to action
Painting pictures of her with words
Ecstasy; naked like a seed…

Amazing how she spreads her legs
Ravishing for all kinds of pegs
Lust in thoughts, I so love the urge
That comes from creative ink and brush…

An amazing sight to steal a glance
Her pretty face has good fragrance
Inhaling and appreciating
Nature, and all on, its great slate

Pen and paper, I always wear,
Because we make love everywhere,
Romancing me, all night and day
She blow my mind, in the right ways

Licking my brains, in sarcasm
To the heights of sweet orgasms
And as we age, we grow fonder
Poetry is my sweet lover.

Years of Buharism

Oh Nigeria, my Nigeria
Do we have to be rooted here
Is it bad to have faith in you
When denial is long over due.

We prayed for growth to be better
But tides of grief spread all over
Washing our faiths, replacing hopes
With bullets and some suicide ropes

We prayed for capable leaders
The ones who would be our Messiahs
But we got pins in our buttocks
Hurting much more than we can talk

Dead butterflies in our stomach
Breeds sufferings we used to lack
Our eye sockets are wet and soaked
With force of tears that erupt rocks.
