Hazel’s Diary: My beautiful child

Heavens gave you strength, shield, arrow and a bow
And made your charms colorful like a rainbow

Your infectious smile is like a yellow sun,
Its magnanimity brings about a new dawn.

Time is indefinite

Today began from twelve
Tomorrow the same twelve
We live in time, a dream
Rolling camera’s film

Yesterday the Sun rose
Shining light on the road
Today, when summarized
Is same as analyzed…

Many of my mates grew
While I searched for my shoes
Could it be that my plans
Were broken like brittle glass

Thought I wouldn’t pull through
But little did I know
Time is indefinite
No one is ever late.

Rascals of pandemic

Nostrils runs, heartbeats rise
As the liquid in the eyes
Build and ready to pour
While waiting for a cure…

When squirrels have no nuts
They always believe not;
When a deer tells the lore
While waiting for a cure…

Some lament, some riot
Shooting autopilots
Thousands crash on the floor
While waiting for a cure…

Things will never be same
When both eyes have seen pain
That gains can’t procure
While waiting for a cure.

The pride I love

Nylons stops me from breathing
Yes I am suffocating
But please do not unwrap me
To share pictures, you saved me.

I am trying to unlearn
A few things that I have learnt
Like how not to be so kind
To all sorts of humankind..

Who see all benevolence
As something fishing and thence
Poison the minds of the gods
To increase setbacks and odds..

I rather die in silence
Than open up to serpents
Who act like rats in the dark
Devouring me more than sharks

I rather suffer indoors
Than go begging neighbors
Who will announce with speakers
That they are my providers.

Understanding love

Love is a beautiful thing
It must not be about rings…
It is awesome to know
It fills a ring cycled hole
Yes, true love may sometimes bleed
Without love, it never heals…

Love is beyond love itself
Indeed you can love yourself
Not alone outside your fence
When nothing hides the pretense
And it becomes so obvious
You need a heart to mate yours…

Love wind can uproot a tree
And be calm as summer sea
Uplifting both seeds and roots
At the same time, dragging foot
Into open combustions
Maybe not for destructions.

Love is a confused mixer
It holds both ends together
Baking both sweet and sour
In dry tears and blood shower
Between two people who patch
An already collapsed house.

Love is the plant we water
And some times it may wither
When we fail to understand
That its growth is in our hands
It would not bloom on its own
Well, bliss is made in love home.

Cremated Heart

I know you truly
Love to see me smile
Giggling like a child
With nothing to hide…
If only we knew
When I was brand new
Maybe my sweet cake
Would have been your bake…

I know you truly
Would do anything
So I lighten up
And end the teardrops…
If only we met
Days before today
You would been the cure
To make me secured

I know you truly
Would for me take shots
Refilling lanterns
But it is too late
For, I have gone deep
Burnt beyond repair
Lost in thick dark smoke
No more dreams and jokes.

I know you truly
Would have rescued me
From my red shadows
And all my sorrows…
Here we are helpless
Stretching out our hearts
But I have evolved
Oh dearly beloved.

I need this cry

My shadow grows short,
While I face the sun,
Enthusiasm,
I lost to my past
Now exist in clouds
Gathering the rains…

Million tears to pour
I was once alive
So active and fun
But not anymore
Ever since I lost
Other part of me

I now float on seas,
Made of tears I cried,
And all parts of me,
Now follows the wind
I truly need help
Do not waste your time

My sorrowful mood
Is so infectious
So just let me be
A thick dark black smoke
Soaring to the clouds
And falling as rains.

Two faithfuls

Even when swimming in tears,
And drowning in sober reflection,
Even while the sky is falling
Amidst the petulance called Corona
And long dark shadow of death,
Laying still are two faithfuls
Two faithfuls of quality grey
Turning dust under the earth…

Two faithfuls of related blood,
Two faithfuls that never hid an hug
Two faithfuls whose teachings I received
As a little child and also as an adult
Two faithfuls, one in his mid eighty
And the other in her mid seventy
Two faithfuls buried a day in between
Two faithfuls of the Onyeche dynasty.

I did look away from the Priest
I searched for drones up to gaze
And any thing sort of a distraction
Just to take my drowning minds away
From two faithfuls and the undertakers
Oh life, oh life, oh life all I can say is;
It is well, dust shall we all return
One day when our clocks stops to run.

R.I.P dear Uncle and Aunt.
