Lament from tribal marks

Before the mouth produces a sound
Before the tongue would even be heard
I provided details of such nativity…
To tradition; I was its nitty gritty,

Finding my way down torn mortal flesh
Significantly more than scars can fetch
I had varying lines on the leather trace
Birthed from the blades of tribes and race.

I dignified pride, I was the mark of heritage
A healer older than the rock of age
I saved millions of lives from a bloodbath
Although I was also a victim of my own fate

I provided a tribal identification
Until my hosts felt I was an ugly vulture
A cock and bull hovering a cultural based
Disfiguring a supposed beautiful face…

As the night makes way for a new day
My existence gradually fades away
From bodies I gave the warmest embrace
Distinguishing them from another tribe and race.

The lady man

I know of a dark lady
Who is such a darling
She isn’t that stainless
But she is the sweetest of goddess

She makes the sun shine
And gives sweet taste to a wine,
She is to affection a magnet
Impeccably perfect.

She dignifies her skin
With such kindness within
Staying golden and true
Indeed, her kind is few…

She speaks so smoothly
Creating that heavenly
Environs of pleasure
No mortal can measure…

She has her own scars
But it doesn’t deter
Her magnanimity
To help communities…

Although her skin is dark
Her heart of gold never lacks
Love rainbow and tender care blend
Showering down to never end.

A character in her fantasies

There is a place somewhere I rather be
Not in the paradise of destructive bees
Nor amongst lost souls wiggling in thrills
Until my dust is laid, the place I shall be…

It is like a music note, in clouds it streams
With trillion views of slow traveling beams
Quenching darks shadows outside and within
Entrapped, yet free to possibilities of dreams

An elephant when felt, tasting like nectar, flat like leaf
Yet an invincible spot is where I crave to live
Somewhere outside the corners of common reality
Where eternal bliss is the nitty-gritty

In the expression of thoughts and fantasy
No public display nor dare need of human eyes to see
Me living a life, mediocre or not but in satisfaction
As the main character in my woman’s imagination

In her wildest dreams is where I rather be
At the core of the nectar and honeybees
Affectionately kissing and cuddling her for real
Until my dust is laid, in her fantasies I rather be…

Internet fraudster

While the monkey works vigorously
Baboons are eating voraciously,
There is a growing tribulation,
And a misconception in my generation…

Ever since Karma kicked the bucket,
No repercussion picking pockets
Diabolically they pay rent
To own luxury cars in fleets and private jets.

Considering the raise in hardship,
And the; “make your money, no one cares” clip…
The tiny line between good and bad
Has evaporated; and now, no wrong is found.

The pressure they mount, feeds the lagoon
Sometimes it embraces a silver spoon
Clicking sticky links to cash out quick
All day and night; in my city, they do not blink.

Last night’s flame

So high and loud were the screams
At the point of confusion
Many would wish the tension
Was another scary dream.

None cared about documents
The snails became good runners
The chubbies flew like feathers
Choosing breath over wealth.

Dead were the words, wait or freeze
No one cared about naked breasts
Nor for the other ragged dress;
Some forgot their tender kids.

It was dark, though not past ten
At large, no shoes and no socks
So did those with age of rocks
The sick borrowed extra legs.

Gate was slammed with great intense
Multitudes flee from Estate
Leaving the block to its fate
No remorse, and no conscience.

A potential disaster
More than the Devil can chew
Over the roof the fire grew
Even the kids were sprinters

Who wouldn’t run when co-tenant
Whose roof feared to be burning
Were seen halter-scattering
To anywhere but not their tent.

From the point eyes made a frame
No hero nor firefighters
No sands, nor extinguishers
Could put off such thick dark flame.

The overwhelming stampede
Was more like defeat concede
And you wouldn’t comprehend
The things running in our heads.

It wasn’t our blocks on fire,
To send fire in particles
From our harbors and vessels
Aided by winds, fuel and tires.

Approaching the burning flame
Were only a few of us
Whose bravery I didn’t trust
We discovered in our shame….

That accross the estate’s fence
A tall tree, and not the roof
Was on fire, putting it off,
We laughed; but it was intense.

Choice of the Singles

Used to think a lot
More of lust, no fault
A big bum, big breast
Pretty face, white teeth…

Yet, one met no one
Wired all in one
The Photoshop drums
Worsen the medium…

Even the slay Queens
Force their stomach in
Beauty and the beast;
Where hath thy love been?

Once beauty is found
Large brain wouldn’t fit
Torchlight hit Einsteins
They had many stains.

A million times came
When one ran insane
By cried river banks
Of thy ship that sank

Down to earth they need
Yet a sign they seek
Staring at twilights
Moon, rockets and kites.

Thanks to all philanthropists

A special thank you to all philanthropists
From east to west and north to south;
Up the sky; freely the littlest of birds fly
In such sweet serenity before the eyes
We envied their liberty and less worries
Until we became the characters in such stories.

At different stages, challenges comes in different forms
What we make of it matters, as either sadness or fun,
You see these tears, it falls from every eyes
But honestly, if the rich also cry
For the poor, what is there to live for?
A question we asked several times before.

Then our ghetto dirty lives were a truck load of pain
And death a tranquilizer, our wretched breath gain
Even in urban, death is a debt breath pays afterwards
Hence, the street we chose to suffering in this world
On a platter of gold, by you we were served and saved
We owe you our lives and everything we have.

Growing up, we thought of you as some kind of god,
And a creator, redesigning the whole wide world
Eradicating hunger, pains, sorrows, poverty
Sufferings and all forms of deformities.
If only this crazy world had more of you
Sufferings would have been a term we had no clue…

It was right at the junction of lost hope,
Where we had chosen an elevated floor and a rope
And just after tearily reciting our last prayer
Out of the blues came your pull by our shoulders,
From the rose flowers, you pulled out the thorns
Giving us a million more reasons to carry on.

Hazel’s diary: Hazel you are blessed!

The things you exhibit at this tender age
Would make the world read you page by page

Beauty with brain, a perfect combination
Coupled with your drive and determination

Growing up awesomely is a must
But know that adulthood has its storms

And the blood running through you will see you through;
For we are great achievers, winning is all we do…

Some goals may appear as a blurry mirage
But believing is the secret for success to emerge

And all about rightly developing yourself
Learning from the past and future shelves

In this fast growing world with craves and tastes
Worry not, just be yourself by default you are the best.

Don’t close those eyes

Soon you will be off an infant cloth
And may encounter storms, dust and rust

Some achievements may seem a mirage
Unachievable until success emerge

Some days stale may be crystal clear
And the heart would harbor a million fear

Dear, just like the cows are sometimes farrow
Tomorrow comes with its own sorrows

And joy, though showing forth its negative signs
Cry whenever the sun refuse to shine

But never you loss hope in things you do
The adage, “Light at the end of the tunnel” is true

Darkest hour is always before the dawn
It springs eternal and hits a home run

The suspense it showers deep into life
Doesn’t mean you should forever shut those eyes.
