Today is the seed

Better a small egg today
Than a fat hen tomorrow

Come see the rotten seed
Once bone dried and decayed

With no snow chance in hell
Now better and sprouting.

Come see the rotten seed
No one ever wished well

With problems aid, hope aided;
Now the best look of things

Better a mouse in the pot
Than no fried chicken at all.

Nigeria: We are not leopards

Hey! we are not leopards
That can not change their spots
School teaches us to compete
But right now, drop the books

The largest black nation
Should be doing better
Drop the competitions
We learnt on chalk and board

It has so misled us
Hence our Nation crumbles
Let us adopt teamwork
For our Nation to grow.

Hey! we are not leopards
That can not change their spots
Our poor mentality
Need a speedy u-turn.

The largest black nation
Should be doing better
Stop the awful mortgage
Of our children’s future.

We are not immortals
Night and dawn affect not
Let us make a good use
Of our enormous wealth.

Hey! we are not leopards
That can not change their spots
Enough of reoccurring
Painful drawbacks we get.

The largest black nation
Should be doing better,
Not locked and caged inside
Our own stupidity.

For just like charity
That does begin at home;
Our Nation’s growth
Depends so much on us.

Sleeping oil

Love was all; they hung as pictures
On the wall, in the hall
Where they were lovebirds, having fun.

Banns were made, no one opposed, but
Making plans, chasing vows
And rings, they forgot how to love.

From colors to ideas; they fought
Over all, I love you
Turned into words no one said.

Love became a solid oil, at
The bottom of their cans
Begging for shakes, but no one cared.

Trivial goals

Regardless of how
Little or trivial
A goal may seem,
Challenges are quizzing
To make you great.

The coal tars

Do not scream or ring the bell
When the wheels are hot as hell
Still be calm, sweet and nice
I cope well with every size

On the ground, two walls I tie
From the pit, you call a lie
Whence its fire you get a tar
I the dark I shine like stars…

Undulated road I reconstruct
No more catarrh, no more dust
A long journey is no more far
I am here to aid your car.

Life’s Challenges

I waited for augur, but nothing emerged,
By the major road, very far from cars
Over there stood, my future plans
Staring at the price, a view at hand.

Could it be witches, or an act of God?
That made goals to turn dark cloud
God’s help, I took a step for a gold,
Staring at me at the end of the road.

Running all cylinders, sec turn days
Cars came faster than my widest pace
That I could see my soul on my face…
Staring at me in a near death race.

Now my skin has traces of cracks
From the scars mapping my beards
The more I ran, more cars appeared
Staring at me to give up the marks.

Eachtime I am close to the finish line,
Road expands, new end mark emerge
So frustrating, to the demons I merge
Staring at goals in reflection of its eyes.

But each car I overcame on high speed
Made me realize, that life is a field
Of clear chance, and crude challenges
Staring at us, in line with our strengths.
