Nigeria: We are not leopards

Hey! we are not leopards
That can not change their spots
School teaches us to compete
But right now, drop the books

The largest black nation
Should be doing better
Drop the competitions
We learnt on chalk and board

It has so misled us
Hence our Nation crumbles
Let us adopt teamwork
For our Nation to grow.

Hey! we are not leopards
That can not change their spots
Our poor mentality
Need a speedy u-turn.

The largest black nation
Should be doing better
Stop the awful mortgage
Of our children’s future.

We are not immortals
Night and dawn affect not
Let us make a good use
Of our enormous wealth.

Hey! we are not leopards
That can not change their spots
Enough of reoccurring
Painful drawbacks we get.

The largest black nation
Should be doing better,
Not locked and caged inside
Our own stupidity.

For just like charity
That does begin at home;
Our Nation’s growth
Depends so much on us.

A letter to Green and White

Just like the way birds fly
In the air, with blithe spirits
Brothers please, let’s repose
To impose placidity
And immensity in our cities.

Sisters, let’s kill the fallacious
Attitudes diminishing us
And troubleshoot our challenges
It is like we get intoxicated
To forget; whereas sober we regret

Our actions that never dispatched
Or took out, the problems in hand.
These Nations we run to
For all sort of amenities
Began with a change of mentality.

Research Gaps

I have seen many books lie
In the shelf, stack up high
Without usage or consultation;
A useless dump of graduation
And for promotion, just publish
Or be left to rot and perish.

There are lots of researchers
But challenges prefer preachers
To build up faith, forsaking land;
When we have hammers in our hand
Before we kick-buckets and resign
To rebuild earth with great design.

Reinventing wheels is silly
Solution will come in a jiffy
If the fences of universities
Are taken away, and if lecturers
And researchers, aim for advancements
With an open door to their students.

I speak of the youth and mentors
Because while these growing tutors
Have picked up, mentoring careers
It is these students who will,
To the advancement columns fill
Growth and development, high as hill.

Nigeria: Black Politicians

Black Politicians – Onyeche Vincent Onyekachukwu

Even with disgust detectors
Black pigs are but evil vectors
They pretend to be good mentors
Displaying the calm sheep’s features
Whereas they are the Devil’s mentors.

Borough, soil loses its textures
Development they place in detentions
Vanity they steal buried in mansions
Human brain has no sense receptors
But I feel deep pain inside my brains

I can’t comprehend the pigs actions
Mind you black pigs can lack pigments
So it is not just about complexions
But the irritating gravitating tensions
That keeps reprinting in revelations

And coming as scissors and vultures
To destroy the books none are authors;
And worsen the strains of genetic minds
When they are done, they leave behind sands
Feet and self-destructive hands.

Skinny Black Pig

I may be a pig, but not fat
Nor calm as a sleeping cat
Laying on a weaved mat,
While others can not fart…

My forehead has shining scars
Should I nag, count my strands
I was born with enough pain
Quite the number of my hairs…

Take a look at my dull face
Read between my midnight race
You will see a hidden pain
From the sufferings that I gain…

Please, is it a crime or a sin
To be black and skinny as me
Good parents don’t pass to kin
An heritage the pigs have killed.
