A painter called Earth

All memoirs fade, and goes with breath
Allowing more heads to grace the earth
Till time wash the memories off
There are wonders in paint and brush.

Sonnet: Revisiting Gifts

While I am overwhelmed by these gifts
Coming from past, sweet words and texts
During Christmas and my birthdays
Surprises that came with ribbons
Pockets filled with fat envelopes
And buckets of consumables
I am grateful for those moments.

All these stickers on souvenirs
Gotten from events in the past
Brings a flashback with some teardrops
Though I do not anticipate
Being here forever on earth
I revisit, for I can not forget
Sweet memories I find in gifts.

Haunting memories

I never believed; I could fall hard from the sky,
Or dance to a love flute until you broke the yoke…
And made me, your own choice, though at first, when we met
Inside me had weird fears, but you made opaque clear
Then the doubts turned to faith burning flames no regrets
You turned my fantasies into realities.

You made me a better version on your shoulder
And became the sunlight shining bright in my life
But the fire left the stove when you took off the glove
Leaving me in this home on my own, like dead bones.
Every day, I replay memories that we shared
And these memories, brings back sweet memories

Looking at the broken mirrors, I see terrors
And the trauma of your absence keeps haunting me
Guess I let my guard down hence I drink till I drown
Inside bitter tears shed; thinking of things we shared
Wish you pick up the phone, although you are long gone
I will still be right here waiting for you my dear.

Laughing beside a flame

On the day I burst your brains
We posed to take a frame

Albino! I teased your face
Smiling out saving grace

Memories are so amaze
Love we made in the rain,

Soon began sharing the blames
Laughing beside a flame.

Fruit trees

Like monkeys we hung on trees
Chased by termites and honeybees
On though steel looking stems.

One branch to another, we swung
Plucking unripe fruits was wrong
We careless, childishly we belonged

To an age when life was full of fun,
From a stem to another, we turned
Casting away the unripe fruits, we ran

When the owners came out and yelled;
From the guava trees we once clustered
Unbroken spirit, we fell and even bleed.

Our acts were evil in the eyes of the old;
But we were young, not dull but bold.
Destructions were handy, so we held

On to fun at the top, as our only priority;
The trees we naked in seconds, before maturity
Could understand our childish sincerity.

There is this frame
Draining my big brains
With lots of claims
And proclaiming shame.

It has a school
And images that plough
Through; many colors
Dyed on the bedspreads;

And wet pillows
Dripping dark shadows,
Not ugly, not fine
Wishing to undo time.
