A voice from Nigeria

Nothing will make me grab a rope
Just because my world hit the slope
I might have not been to Europe

But I do not have to go suicidal
Just because of someone else’s potential
Although I have not been to Asia

But before Butterfly was Caterpillar
I have to grow and not think of Antarctica
In Africa, for I have not been to Australia

Nothing will make me empty a bar
Simply because I have no luxury car
I might have not been to America

But my ink and papers have traveled
And my poetic voice have been heard
By different races across the world.

Move on brother

Seems you need an inspiration
Life has prints ugly blemishes
Journey through the lessons it teaches
Makes one know they weren’t that bad.

Most times we need motivations
I heard that you had a great fall,
But the most greatest of them all
Is falling again on same spot.

Listen to this inspiration
Since circumstances brought you hell
From the spot that you tripped and fell,
Rise; mark the spot and forge ahead.

Things left in yesterday

Life is beyond what we think;
Have you been disappointed
Used and dumped, like filthy rags?
I have a message for you….

Things happens for a reason
And pains are for the season
There are fishes in the sea
Just cast the net, to harvest.

Tomorrow will still come
One way or another, get up
Cry not over the spilled milk
One door closes, another opens

Things happens for a reason
And pains are for the season
I know it hurts, so bad, but
Let it fade in yesterday.

Dawning of hope

Do not make your enemies to rejoice
Every lion was once upon a time a cub
I know you’ve been through hell
But you have to keep your fingers crossed

Do not make your enemies to rejoice
The soil may dry while the sun scorches
But, you have to keep fighting, even as
The leaves are drying and falling

Do not make your enemies to rejoice
Soon the heavy clouds will start to cry,
The stars are always above, though
It is visible only at night

Do not make your enemies to rejoice
Even the moon is sometimes dull,
One after a time, wait for your shine
Don’t you feel bad, down and blue

Do not make your enemies to rejoice
Remember tomorrow is in labor room
And the breaking of a new dawn
Must have been created, for hope

Do not make your enemies to rejoice
You might fall, but you can stand
So pick yourself back up, push on
Soon it shall be another history.

Keep doing you

I heard them say;
you are chasing whirl winds
Pursuing dreams
which dry pockets always win;
Earning just back pats,
poverty remains unsolved
Don’t allow that deter you
from what you truly love.

Most times, not every passion
is meant to pay the bills
To develop, back pat remains
the much needed pill;
Yes, there are rich nutrients
in the smallest almond
Thank God for who you are,
an adorable black diamond.

The strength of hope

Surrounded by the energies of negativity,
Emerging with a great charge of positivity
Even in a stinky dung or in a deep coma
The smell of hope has a pleasant aroma

At first, you sniff more than you should
Until you surrender your mighty taste buds
Even with logically evidence flying around
A lot of people will make discouraging sounds

But hope will stick with a great satisfaction
Giving the mind an awesome gratification,
Even the far fetched triumph is motivating
Creating that crazy sense of well-being.

Obviously, hope is that not everyone fancy
Many at times it is seen as complacency…
Even when it fixes a million wears and tears
Just because it is empty, they look elsewhere

No matter what may be on the other table
Hope makes man’s wants and needs; satiable
Even when doubts critic contentment
Hope seals all until success cement it.

Base on principles

Hands on deck,
You call me smart; each time, I
Complete a task…
Am not God;
But, I see things possible,
And doable…

Feed your brain
No man comes to earth filled up
Believe me;
Wisdom is
In heads with brains, so give yours
The best shot….

Nothing more
But with patterns and base on
Principles,
You can do
Just anything you wish to do;
Yes you can.

Today is the seed

Better a small egg today
Than a fat hen tomorrow

Come see the rotten seed
Once bone dried and decayed

With no snow chance in hell
Now better and sprouting.

Come see the rotten seed
No one ever wished well

With problems aid, hope aided;
Now the best look of things

Better a mouse in the pot
Than no fried chicken at all.

Sonnet: Lessons from my parents

My parents have no fancy cars but greater mass
Through them I learnt to lower hands and respect ants.
The grass matters, always render help to others
Having a name is not the same for coins and fame.
Their blood my drink, I built my bricks, from all I sucked
I felt the rod, I cried and nod, away from mud…
In their actions, I picked passion which to function.

You do not burn your home or turn away from dawn
Simply because, you have a course, to break a curse.
To mould a clay, you have today, so they will say;
Never you bail, hammer thus fail, running from nails,
Make no excuse, do not refuse to be of use
Is not by wants but dues and sweats you pay for worth
Do not show strength when humble horns can induce choice.

Nobody send

Every man
Is for himself..
Just like a shirt,
With tight long sleeve

You try to wear
Or take it out,
Until you learn
Not to expect,

Much from people
And a pie crust
Nothing you will
Get done to dust.

Best helping hand
Is at the end
Of a long sleeves,
Just you to fend.
