Back to crèche

I wish, I practice magic
When situations are tragic
I would never let death win
Those who sink, will have a fin.

I take giant strides for success
Just when I am about to pop and rest
Postman lands pink slips on my hands
Am to success, a one night stand.

I wish, I practice magic
I will destroy all tragics…
Cold outside, but I am sweating
When asked; “how are you this morning”

Should I reply the obvious
“Fine”, when am a faulty box,
And even with my aging flesh
Life keeps taking me back to Crèche.

Vanquished brutally

The riches of the world, makes me humble
Yet, a new week brings a new fumble;
No way out for the candle in the wind
Finally, my village people wins.

Thought I had substance, till devil prized me
Sheepishly am rigid up to my kneels
Standing like a tree blown fiercely by storms
It seems like, my village people won.

In hot pan but the wax refuse to melt
Obviously most wax gained many regrets
No way out for the candle in the wind
Finally, my village people wins.

The battle is lost in eyes of soldiers
Hence, I often look over my shoulders
Standing like a tree blown fiercely by storms
It seems like, my village people won.

Inside me rage builds ready to explode
Heavy heart, yet loads comes in like a flood
Sticking like a glue, blowing like a storm
It seems like, my village people won.

Standing on time bomb

No parachutes, down I fell
Into the hot pit of hell

Roasting up in everyday
On the queue to better days

Sadly, I am the laughing stock
But I do not give a single fuck!

Against all odds, with an aim
To have success, my name to claim

Under lit candles I bent my neck
Hoping the sky will give me a perk

But the blurred dark cloud extended
Turning lionhearted to an hen,

If you were me, what will you do
When legit fails to pay the dues.

Nigeria: We are not leopards

Hey! we are not leopards
That can not change their spots
School teaches us to compete
But right now, drop the books

The largest black nation
Should be doing better
Drop the competitions
We learnt on chalk and board

It has so misled us
Hence our Nation crumbles
Let us adopt teamwork
For our Nation to grow.

Hey! we are not leopards
That can not change their spots
Our poor mentality
Need a speedy u-turn.

The largest black nation
Should be doing better
Stop the awful mortgage
Of our children’s future.

We are not immortals
Night and dawn affect not
Let us make a good use
Of our enormous wealth.

Hey! we are not leopards
That can not change their spots
Enough of reoccurring
Painful drawbacks we get.

The largest black nation
Should be doing better,
Not locked and caged inside
Our own stupidity.

For just like charity
That does begin at home;
Our Nation’s growth
Depends so much on us.

Go through the pain

If you need love
Just let it rain.

If you need breathe
You have to go

Out through the pain
Till it is gained.

Nigeria: Eating flesh, gifting bones

It pains so hard
That we still find
Folks eating sand
In a rich land.
Disparity
Between parties
Pose such pity
In my city.

Poverty sketch
Hits highest pitch
Those who eat flesh
Gift bones and preach.
It pains so hard
That we still find
Folks eating sand
In a rich land.

Many reach heights
To detach sight
From fingers that
Fed them in past
Disregarding
The beginnings
And forgetting
Humble gardens.

Seems the rich aim
At sending rain
To combat strain,
But make more gain;
And, not to sink
They kick, poor pick
Demeaning rocks
Praising rich folks.

Mood so swung

Have you ever had moments
That aren’t about regrets
Nor desiring time rewind
So to undo an ill act…

Have you ever had a rage
Burning within at some stage
When you just couldn’t pinpoint
From where the mood swings and drifts…

And, have you ever been asked
Why you are moody and sad
But you just have no answer
To why joy became lesser.

Am I alone in such world
Where moods flush like floods
Washing the subconsciousness
To the state of happiness.

The symptom

Two legs in one
Trouser and pants
She thrust words as
Arrows and spears…

Some times tears melt
Mountains of ice
Some times the tears
Refuse to pour

Instead it falls
Like collapsed walls
Picking the tooth
Meal or no meal…

Digging deep holes
The blood gush out
In response to
A broken heart

Dumbs, can not speak
Some times they rap
When pain hits peak
In sorrow wraps…

At times we men,
Turn good women
Into awful
Terrible nags.

The neighbor hears
Parrots and dogs
Next time when we
Say she has changed

Firstly; let us,
Correct our wrongs
We are diseases
Her nag; symptoms.

Nigeria: Today’s tomorrow tales

Today’s tomorrow tales
Should be remembered
For the darkest hour
Today’s shadow draws…

Please do not forget to
Mention all the blood
Spilled by innocent ones
In all zones of the green…

Do not forget to tell
Of the pigs and their lines
And how they looted us
Building their big castles.

Do not forget to tell
Of all the foolishness
We adopted down the line
Applauding evil doers..

Do not forget to tell
There was a country
In unity but separated
All in politics name.

Please do not forget
To tell stories as it were
So tomorrow will learn
From the errs of today.

Broken; sharp words

No harm, no wrong
Your promise sunk
With the same tongue
you kiss and lick

You have spoken
ill to my heart
Now am broken
scattered apart

Beyond a seal
I even bleed
Beyond a heal
I leak indeed.
