City of hardship

I grabbed a bull’s horn
It is no more fun
Please should God return
Let Him remember me
Devil don’t feel
Pains life got on me
Dried tank in my car
Same brush, the same tar
Living in Africa.

Nigeria: Eating flesh, gifting bones

It pains so hard
That we still find
Folks eating sand
In a rich land.
Disparity
Between parties
Pose such pity
In my city.

Poverty sketch
Hits highest pitch
Those who eat flesh
Gift bones and preach.
It pains so hard
That we still find
Folks eating sand
In a rich land.

Many reach heights
To detach sight
From fingers that
Fed them in past
Disregarding
The beginnings
And forgetting
Humble gardens.

Seems the rich aim
At sending rain
To combat strain,
But make more gain;
And, not to sink
They kick, poor pick
Demeaning rocks
Praising rich folks.

Nigeria: Plight of the graduates

Mother…!! are you in deep sleep
Can’t you see, reality
Is pumping loads of hardship
To the land, called Nigeria.

The fruit hangs at the topmost
But educational system
We all had depended on
Has provided a broken stem

Millions gets to the forest
Only to see empty bushes
Fruits on trees are illusion
Going red on extinctions.

More people are signing to
Modern slavery, anything to
Leave the shores, of Africa
….Who would we put the blames on…

Stagnant Lake

There is no need ruling
For plebs to peruse at glitters
And whales in a stagnant lake
While your stomachs turn pots.

There is no need painting
A rusted iron rooted in water
Whose salinity is at its peak
Corroding as a hell on earth.

There is no need hiding
Or shying away from matters
That could heal our weak links…
And end the present hardship felt.

There is no need saying
We are pretty, when it is filters
And powders that makes us sleek
Yet plebs dwell and live in regret.

Human Killers

Every home has its pillars
When broken, all shall collapse
Yet death is not the true killer
In this world
Of increasing embezzling masses

Today you hear money missing
Later you hear whistleblowing
And the destruction of bonds
Resulting from
Mismanagements of funds.

To me, the universe suffers
Because of what greed offers
How can someone hide large sum
In his apartment,
When humans are dying in poverty.

My anger is not vested upon theft
But the lives lost directly or indirectly
Associated to poverty daily
When someone,
Has the controlling force to evade such.

Stained Green

We have all interpreted
Nigeria’s swindling economy,
By paralysed leadership

And its failed policies
What we haven’t really done
Is to wash the dirty flag…!
