A day with a rich man
I sat down with a rich man
On the same kind of rattan
I couldn’t alter a word
But enthusiasm swirled
I watched him from head to toe
Close and deep into his soul
He had pimples no dimples
Yet he smiled cute and simple
I sat down with a rich man
On the same kind of rattan
Embarrassment of riches
Were his problems not witches..
I sniffed for costly perfume
And found nothing I presumed
His mindsets were not money
But centered round harmony
I sat down with a rich man
On the same kind of rattan
He was just like you and I
One day, to earth says, goodbye.

When to stop chasing money
We all did
Travel light
To the world..
Carrying
Only our
Nakedness…
Though all things
Come to end
Here on earth
There are none
That ever
Can complete
The short race
Chasing cash
To an end.

Sonnet: Choose your status
I have seen all spoons
Some are silver made
And others are not…
I have seen all stoves
They all have same pots;
Some are filled with golds
Others are mere stones…
I have seen their tasks,
Their true potentials
And varying taxes…
I realized,
Life gives us blank cheques
To choose our status
And lifetime wages.

Onion cause tears
Life is sweet, but grows to become sour
Nothing is synonymous to flowers
Than making it to the topmost tower
There are two ways up there, but avoid fears
One is step by step, the other is fast share
Onion mean well but it could cause some tears.
True character is seen when power,
And money is huge like whales that blower
In cool comfort, the raindrops and showers
Overnight makes all blemishes to clear
But the way to the top has many broken chairs
Onion mean well but it could cause some tears.

Nigeria: Our Conspicuous Attitude
Nigerians; in all areas
Are blessed with enormous wealth.
In our shells, our nuts are small
Outside it, we shine so bright.
Nigerians; the green white fans
Dance it out, in full support.
We are broke, only in books
When we spend we shut malls down.

Guided by fortune
I have dug deep down the ground
Where diamonds and golds can be found.
Searching for treasures and pearls,
At the bottom of the oceans.
The more I search, less I find
But in reluctance, comes reward
Suggesting that, like love faces
Fortune could be found in strange places.

Twenty lines of reality
Where are the Kings
The Queen and Knights
Those who were strong
In histories and songs?
Where are the folks
The richest of works
Creams of societies
In previous centuries?
Are their lineages
Same across all ages?
Time is all I fancy
Because of its legacy.
You may be the king
Or a Queen of the ring
But please remember
We are all; time users.
Every age has a shuffle
Powers will always shift
To death there is no bribery
We are all its rivalry.

Ode of a rich and poor
In every
Generation,
There is
An ascension
Just like
An hot air balloon
Thus bringing forth
A nouveau riche
As this happens,
Somewhere somehow
Tyre deflates
Nouveau pauvre
Suddenly becomes
Of a wealthy.
Like breath
Like death,
Beyond wishes
Some are
Born rich
As others
Become
Impoverished;
Acknowledging
Indeed, times change.

The rectitude
I am human
With errs in life
I may be stray
In my lost ways
But I can not
In storms and rains
Take to the streets
A paper kite.
I chose a point
With less of flies
Not for supplies
But rest of mind
Within the bounds
Of breath and sight
Screaming behind
The gleam of lights
Yes I am poor
In your own eyes
But rich to me
Under moonlight.
So take your wealth
And buy a life
I can not kill
Or take a breath
In the rightness
Of principle;
Rectitude is
My way of life.

Tunnel to wealth
Every night and days I stare
There is this thing about you dear
It is like sunshine of cheer
One stop shop, a class at its best
You are the word to swell pockets
You are the hearts tunnel to wealth.
