You (By Sarah Hughes)

The Original poem (click here for it)
Was written by Sarah Huges

You are ash on the wind
Of what could have been
Floating out across the sea

And I reach out for your hand
In the hope of a win win
Perhaps for the sense to feel

But you don’t know me
And I’m reaching out in hope
For the lights to turn green

But all there is beside the windmill
Is an echo of you, down the slope
I will never know you, unless in dreams.

Element of beauty

Some are tall as hills
Germs die once they blink
Trees leaves fall and lay
Under such feet on the way….

Let’s start with me;
Hehehehehe… I often think
God looked the other way
When His hands were moulding me…

Often at times we say
Everyone is beautiful
Well, let us be frank
For at least today…

God was sleeping to say
When His hands was on a tool
Moulding both, white and black
Incomplete perfection to say…

Some people that I envy
Are to perfection in signs
Of awesomeness and never awful
Making lovers like me turn fools

For He was so happy
When He carved out some designs
Enamouringly beautiful
From heads to the toes…

Masochistic World

Back on the bed
Job on the hand..!
Get it all peel
For an offer;
If you can pull
I give you a thumb.

These sadists trend
Ungodly trade
Picking up nail
And long hammer
To grab a bull,
By its own horn.

Exponential
Failure cum pain
Breeds bad results
And evil deed;
All for good end
She bows and bend…

I hope it shall
Condense and rain;
Why take graduates…
Through hell for bread?
Please be reminded;
You shall be judged.

Research Gaps

I have seen many books lie
In the shelf, stack up high
Without usage or consultation;
A useless dump of graduation
And for promotion, just publish
Or be left to rot and perish.

There are lots of researchers
But challenges prefer preachers
To build up faith, forsaking land;
When we have hammers in our hand
Before we kick-buckets and resign
To rebuild earth with great design.

Reinventing wheels is silly
Solution will come in a jiffy
If the fences of universities
Are taken away, and if lecturers
And researchers, aim for advancements
With an open door to their students.

I speak of the youth and mentors
Because while these growing tutors
Have picked up, mentoring careers
It is these students who will,
To the advancement columns fill
Growth and development, high as hill.

Tone: Enamoring love

I feel like screaming
I feel like shouting
But these walls surrounding
Us will shake, quake and then collapse…

Wish I could parade
Your amazing shades
That never ever fades
But we signed; no public display…

Your loving kindness
Enamored sweetness
Gives me total wellness
For in you, is my quick relief…

When I feel unease
The thoughts of you ceases
Stress, trading for cheese
All of the pains I house inside.

Lean Robust Birds

Bright Sharon of roses on its bed
Still envies the shades that fade
Wondering why rains fall to the floor
Yet the blue sky is the goal for all.

One day; several feathers swung
Then I heard a beautiful song…
Coming from birds that crave for peace
As the leaves trembled by a bliss

While walking across paths of earth
Seeing abundant riches and wealth
Their wishes are all, including dustbins
Harvesting far more than nectars on trees

But while I dazed far from reach
The richest being on earth made a screech
“I wish I was a flying bird” he said
“I’ll sky roam and never hit the ground.”

Egg on our faces

How do we know the rotten eggs
When there are no water or bowls
To submerge them; for bad to float

How do we know the rotten eggs
When the hen, church and bows
Can’t identify its arrows, eggs and saints.

Hence soon as they win an election
Woefully, they throw eggs on our faces
Cementing it with the dust and flours

Hoarding us from our expectations
While they mess up our senses…
To embezzle our heaps to the floor.

The virgin heartbreaker

She is a lady so beautiful
Endowed with lots and all.
Searching for love so true
At same time, scared to fall
In love with the wise and fools.

The complexity of her laden
Is the membrane between her legs
Never been touched nor dredged;
Although men feel sadden
When she sticks to “no” in bed.

She claims not to be ready
For even an aisle walk with any;
Hence today, to love, she agrees
And tomorrow, like a penny
Empty; she packs and leaves.

Ain’t no commitment but burns
Rotating hearts bitter she turns
Walking away from all doors
Taking her lovers for only chum
Because none has ever held her bum.

Tone: Dearth days

Every day I wake up at mid night
Not by nightmares nor any fright
It is late for my phone to call
Hence I think of you, wishing for more
More of the passion and down pour
Dredging these dearth days for sure
Picking images from sweet memories
Reassembling all our love stories
While I replay your soothing voice
Reminding me; that you are my choice.

Soul Searching

Have you ever made sweet chats
From the depth of your hearts
Where “I love you” often rocks
Amongst others, unlocking lucks

Opening doors of self discovery
Manipulating emotion with envy
Demanding who loves more than the other
While stealing kisses from one another…

Right above such a harbour
The moonlight chose to bore
A reflection, converting to love
Sugars only soulmates can dissolve…

Such state of mind isn’t just romance
But also, spiritually enhanced
For beyond the dust called flesh
Acceptance lurk souls that search.
