Sonnet for a goddess

I used to think, beauty had a key
Unlocked by wealth and artificial quay

I never knew goddess exist, I assumed
Most beautiful girls in town were doomed.

I saw them as prostitutes that got laid
Until my presumptions finally failed.

I didn’t just meet beauty but a good lady
Tall like the hills and body hot like chilli

Her thick hips were round like an arc
In her acts, I saw a godly covenant ark

Hence I fell at her feet to worship her
Not just for her unforgettable wonders

Neither for her ravishing and freezing gaze
But; because she gave me a brand new phase.

Sonnet: Never Were

Fighters wear gloves to win
Trophies thrown in the bin
History tells of things
As it pleases, versions told.
Forgetting roots that hold
Forgetting ray but beams
Life is, a funny dream..!

Miserable but it seems
To have coat some sweet cream
And others bitter trims
Oh life is a short film
In case, it starts to dim
Don’t you fight or scream
At the end, no one wins.

Sonnets: Why envy mine

Because I spark
You gather smokes
To dim my light
Whereas the sky
Has lots to share
In cloaks of light
Bright and clear.

Plane not a bird;
Yet, you still try
To pull me down.
Whereas the sky
Is big enough
For all of us
To roam and fly.

Nigeria: Congratulated

After night, comes dawn
Yes; I lie, I will be fine
Under the footage of grey
And therewith sufferings
Tasted as honey sweetness
In the core of bitterness.
My foot turn cold
Feverish; I shiver
Terrified by the shadows
Crying a river
But something in me says;
Congratulate the moon
The night may be long
But dawn will surely come.

Sonnets: 170219

Like fire, demons and hell
Blazing, I often err
Yes, am not an Angel.

Do not worry my dear
Sometimes I may not jell
Or answer the doorbell
The way love stories tell.

But, sharing love’s sphere
In nuptial hills and dell
I will always be there;

Marry me my lover
In you I see clearer
Your love remain sweeter
Than sweetest of sugars.

Sonnet: Lies in the cupboard

I kept my lies in a cupboard
High, wide and fine; best of them all,
Whether white lies, or priestly lies
Each lie I told, I hung in there
On one lie; I hung another
And to cover, then another,
All the time, so the story goes.

I kept my lies, in a cupboard
Every hanger had its duties
Holding on to specific lies
Until one day it got filled up
Then imploding, it exploded
Now here I am, shattered and wrecked
With whirling winds blowing my dust.

Sonnet: Blood on our land

Weren’t hearts made for love
To carry the red fluid
Of oxygen and the genes…
Not pumping rage and blood

There is blood on our land!!
Hearts have lost their office
And sense of right and wrong.

In modern age and time
Cold blood reigns supreme here
Sadly, it rains on all tiers

From the high power drunk,
To green-eyed local folks
Envious of another growth
Spilling blood on our land.

Sonnet: Message to LGBT community

Stop Lesbianism, stop gay, stop bisexuality
Humans are meant to be heterosexual
One in zero, not all these homosexualities
Mad men in nosocomial are shackled
Treated of their delirious diseases
Not psyched that they are normal.
Why not treat the hormonal imbalances.

Transgender, the stunts of science
Bestiality, the puppets of the demons
To what end, would these continue
Probably when, it becomes more than a culture
And the true sexuality of human nature
Is lost and forever forgotten in six bands..
Oh, please; stop backing the wrong horse.

Sonnet: My first battle won

Against rattles
And obstacles
In glass bottles
The first battle
Outrightly won
When I was born
Is being black

Others may lack
Wrinkles do not
Penetrate nuts
In blackish lands
Time might hit hard
But fact is that
Blacks don’t crack.

Sonnet: Happy birthday love

In all astuteness
Bright as a new penny
You have this thing
That wine and dine as
A reflective power
Brilliantly shinning
Inside of my heart.

In all affectionate
You light up my path
I can see clearly now
Today’s God immaculate,
Happy birthday Ifeoma
My forever and a day
Sweet shinning albedo.
